Vision formally known as Oldham Bangladeshi Youth Association established in 1974 based in Oldham.
The aim of the organisation is;
“To promote the interest of young people of Oldham by, where necessary and appropriate, association with Local Authority, voluntary and statutory organisations in a common effect to advance educational achievements and attainment and provide facilities to support young people’s personal development”
Over the years Vision has been struggling to fights social exclusion and promotes inclusion by organising social and cultural events and activities; sports facilities such as coaching and tournaments; IT and other vocational training courses; activities to empower and engage women; a summer play scheme for children and young people and many other community-based activities.
The organisation also focuses on the educational and employment needs of young people in the deprived areas of Oldham. And try’s to help young people by offering the right advices with the help of outside organisations such as Positive Steps.
Vision has a keen interest to support outside organisations developing partnership work which meet the needs of the community, as well as offering advice and services which helps them to carry out work those fellows their aims and objectives.
